Privacy Policy

BestBite LLC (“BestBite,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the BestBite mobile application and this website. This policy describes the information we process when you use our services.
Information we process
Anonymous identifiers. You do not need to create an account or provide your name, email address, or password to vote. The app uses Firebase Anonymous Authentication, which assigns an identifier to an app user without requiring registration.
Votes and interactions. We process choices made in the app, including dish votes, head-to-head comparisons, and undo actions, to operate the voting system and calculate community rankings. These activities may be associated with an anonymous user identifier for functionality and abuse prevention.
Technical information. Our infrastructure providers may process information necessary to provide and secure the service, such as network information, device or app information, and service logs. The exact technical data processed depends on provider operations and configurations.
Information you send us. If you contact us or email food photos, we receive the email address, message, photos, and any other information you choose to send. Please do not send sensitive personal information.
How we use information
- To provide voting, undo, comparisons, and restaurant-dish rankings.
- To operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and protect the app and website.
- To respond to messages and review voluntarily submitted photos.
- To comply with applicable legal obligations.
Service providers
BestBite uses Google Firebase services, including Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore, and Cloud Functions, to support app functionality. These services process data on our behalf according to their applicable terms and policies. We do not currently integrate Google AdMob or Firebase Analytics into the app.
Advertising and tracking
BestBite does not currently use third-party advertising SDKs or intentionally track users across other companies’ apps and websites for targeted advertising. If our practices change, we will update this policy and any required disclosures.
Data retention and deletion
We retain information as reasonably needed to operate the service, maintain accurate rankings, protect the platform, and meet legal obligations. Retention periods may vary depending on the data and our service providers. To request deletion of information associated with your use of BestBite, contact us at the email below. We may need additional details to locate an anonymous identifier, and some aggregated voting information may not be attributable to an individual.
Data sharing
We share information with service providers as needed to operate the service, and when required by law or to protect rights and safety. Community ranking results may reflect aggregated voting activity. We do not sell personal information.
Children
BestBite is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly solicit personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us.
Your choices and rights
You may contact us to ask about access, correction, or deletion of personal information, subject to applicable law and technical limitations of anonymous accounts. You can stop using the app at any time. Uninstalling the app does not necessarily delete previously recorded votes or associated server-side data.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information, but no system is completely secure.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our services evolve, including if we introduce registered accounts, analytics, or advertising. We will post the updated policy here with a revised effective date.
